Farm stands, orchards and public gardens round out a trip to the garden center. Farm shops and stands sell produce, eggs, honey and often vegetable starts and hanging baskets in spring; orchards and u-pick farms open for strawberries, blueberries, peaches, apples and pumpkins in season; Christmas tree farms sell choose-and-cut and pre-cut trees and wreaths from late November. Botanical and public gardens, arboretums and conservatories are good places to see which plants thrive locally, and community gardens rent plots and share tools and knowledge.

Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pittsburgh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I didn't win anything, but I could find something in each round I was at least kinda interested in, and I am a 100+ plant owner. The concept was fun and I enjoyed myself

I participated in this for the first time this year. I took an entire truck load of plants to give away. I was happy to see them grabbed up as fast as they were coming off my truck. I managed to leave without loading up on other plants. It was fun and I am saving up seeds plants and gardening supplies to take next year.
